Outsourcing & data disclosure

Some processing work may be performed by team members located outside Australia under our supervision. Data is stored in Australia and access is restricted and logged. By engaging us you consent to this arrangement.

What this means in practice

Part of what keeps our fees fixed and low is that routine processing — bank transaction coding, workpaper preparation, document collation — may be performed by team members located outside Australia [[locations to be confirmed]], working under the direct supervision and review of our Australian chartered accountants. Judgement, advice, review and sign-off always happen in Australia.

Where the data lives

Client data stays in Australian-hosted systems (Xero, our practice platform and document portal). Offshore team members access those systems remotely under least-privilege permissions — screens, not copies. Local downloads are prevented by policy and technical controls, access is logged, and every team member is bound by the same confidentiality obligations as our Australian staff.

Your consent

The Tax Practitioners Board’s code of conduct requires us to tell you before work is outsourced or performed offshore, and we ask for your consent explicitly: it appears in every engagement letter and as a checkbox when you start online. If you do not consent, tell us — some services can be delivered onshore-only at an adjusted fee, and we will quote that honestly rather than quietly absorbing the difference.

Questions

Ask us anything about this arrangement at hello@brsadvisory.com.au — including which specific tasks on your file are processed offshore. You’re entitled to know, and we’d rather explain the model than have it wondered about.
